I feel giddy.

Feeling a bit weird... not in a bad way...just an energy way.

My 40s were great. Best 9 years I had ever had. Met a lot of new people...a lot of you people =) and did fun things. Then Ma started getting bad and I lost a few people between 49 and 51 and the last few years have been hard. Hard enough that I haven't done much photography (I haven't edited in years... I think I am afraid to) and I stopped my watercolor. Not good.

This year I hit 60... and I have a spark. It's not the job...the boss is disappointed that I am not smarter and believes that her minor conversations could have made me a born again bookkeeper. It's not family as everyone is sick, disabled or dead. I see people that thought they had the fairytale and they are reaching out to me saying they have a tough road ahead. Im not sure what it is, but I think my clock is resetting. Maybe it's because I have very clear examples where money can't give you anything, or I just stopped caring. I don' t know.

I have a keen interest to go out and take photos. I found a YouTube channel from a guy in Newburyport using photography as meditation. That spoke to me. There is a certain oneness I feel when I am focusing on photos... nothing else gets in. I can't achieve that sitting still.

The shelter is moving out of my reach and I am not sad. That time will be put back for painting.

Maybe it's because I have a clear idea of what I want.

Do you do a real camera for your photography or have you moved on to your phone?

The phones are convenient, but not really good for nature shots.

I have a Nikon with a 300mm zoom lens and a 400mm zoom lens. I take a lot of photos of my friends at Phoenix Swords.

I also bought a point and shoot Nikon last year with a longer zoom lens with the idea that maybe I could get Dad interested in taking photos when we go for rides . He did photography and developed film when he was a boy at a boys club. Sadly I never opened the box last year with all the work struggles and trouble traveling. I thought that if Dad didn't like it I could use it to get photos of the ospreys that summer around my house.

My "good" camera is a Canon, T3 I think.
One of the photo people at Disney World told me I see you are a pirate. I looked at him, and he said do you know how I know? Nope. You have a Canon. LOL........
I have a Sony digital point and shoot, but I am not a big fan of it. I bought it to take to concerts, but it's not a great camera. :(
I also have a little Fuji point and shoot, but it doesn't have much of a zoom, which is why I got the Sony.
And I still have my Minolta Maxxum film camera. I bought that to go to the 1988 Winter Olympics. :)
I even have a Polaroid. Although I don't remember the last time I used it. LOL...
And I guess I have dad's old cameras no too.

Photography sounds really good as a meditation. I like active meditations, art, poetry, etc. And photography sounds even more meditative than the others. :)

I just hit 70 and I don't know what to think! Still in shock that this happened, LOL!!
