Still have not heard back from the senior center about the job. I followed on Monday and on Wednesday the person who interviewed me replied and said that she had to take a few days off because her toddler had come down with the RMV virus. She would let me know when she makes the decision. I wouldn't have figured it would be too hard, but what do I know. There must be plenty of people answering a bookkeeper job posting who are also experienced in elder care and planning events got elders... and even knowing what events they have and are able to run programs for them as well as do office work. Sigh I wonder it she had to cancel interviews and is now trying to reschedule.

I would just like to know before Tuesday. I now have 2 other interviews on Tuesday. One at a place that I want to work, but the pay would be less than the senior center and come with stress.

The other is bank situation that would come with stress and could involve face to face customer service and is the same pay as the other 2. The person I spoke with yesterday could not tell me what type of "help" people who wonder inter the office may need. I do not want to handle money. I have no desire to be robbed at gunpoint for a job. The job is listed as back office with sometimes helping customers.

I think it's a bit of a joke that I am getting all this traction when I am trying to prep for a craft show.

I think I just got my hopes up about being able not to be corporate... but I think it's not to be. They have a person retiring Dec 29th and need someone asap.

I just want to know so I can focus on Tuesday's interviews... or just cancel if I have the job.

maybe show up randomly in person and ask to speak to the manager......

Or just start doing the job and see how long it takes them to figure it out.....

I could show up at the Wednesday noon ceramics class and start teaching. The woman that is running the class is an old student of the teacher that passed away. She could use the help as she does not have the experience. I could get the class back up in size, and get it so they could have a craft show so that outsiders could come in...maybe rent out a few tables to vendors and all the money could go back to the senior center ;-)

Hiring doesn't tend to move too quickly, unless they're in a rush to fill the position. There are so many letters on Ask A Manager where people expect to hear back quickly, but sometimes it takes weeks and weeks.

Im just worried that I'll take a corporate job and then the non profit will call me.

Although the insurance company was my target company so if i get an offer I will take it.

It feels awkward, but there's no reason that if you get a better offer, you can't switch to the better job. I've had to do that once, where I had just accepted a job and was waiting for the paperwork to get processed when I got a MUCH better offer. Of course it's a pain for the company that hired you, but if they were paying better that the second company they wouldn't be losing you.
