I just had a phone call from Amy at Amazon's social media group in Seattle Washington. I could tell that she was working from at home because there was a little dog barking in the background. She sounded like she really cared...nit like the yawning person on Wednesday night.

She was able to look at my account and saw some suspicious purchases...gaming stuff, but since she was not the fraud department she could not give me exact details. I told her that I understood since I work for a bank. She will research the problem and said she would contact a customer specialist and get back to me in 2 to 3 business days. My account is on hold. She was also able to send me an email. I am hoping I can reset the account .

Does this mean that the 3 customer service people were b/s- ing me?

I contacted my credit card and shut it down. I could not verify the purchases that I thought were fraud because I don't have a statement. They shut down the card and will send me another. Then when I get my next statement I should review it.

i had someone try to steal a CC before; company caught it at the first attempt to bill a small amount (apparently lots of scammers start that way, to check if the account is active). glad you caught that something is up, and they are trying to fix it!

edited because i saw that you had to catch it, and maybe it's not the same/fraud. i hope it gets fixed fast, though.
