Dec. 15th, 2018 05:27 amUp at 5 AM to call Amazon.
This person was very polite. He had no idea why I was not receiving any emails.
He cannot open my account because of the 2 step verification procedure....
...who the the hell invents an authorization procedure that locks the main company out? I said this. I said that I work for a bank and we have passwords and you could not invent a system that would stop the bank from seeing someone's account just because they forgot a password or they were hacked.
I asked about how secure my account was. He said that if there was activity then I would receive and email. Umm...no. I had to explain that 3 times. He did not understand why. It has also been 3 days so if the masses were having this trouble then the call centers would know about it.
Does not make sense.
He suggested I set up another account and close my credit card. Sigh. I am wondering if My Amazon Prime Card can send me notices of activity... I don't want to shut the card down as I would have to change everything that gets billed to it...although that may not be bad.
I wonder if anyone knows how to switch accounts on a kindle. I am not good with these things.
I wonder if I should just get a Barnes and Noble Nook.

Date: 2018-12-15 08:09 pm (UTC)It is still looking for the second code that I never set up.
but the thing is that the amazon people can't look at my account because of the code.
I do wonder if I set up my new account just why would they take my word and just shut my old account down. ... I bet they don't.

Date: 2018-12-15 08:24 pm (UTC)It's certainly weird that they can't access your original account and send you a reset for your password to your registered email address or you are unable to click on 'forgotten password' on the login page which should automatically send you a reset link which should reset everything I would have thought. I do find that it's better to email them (they understand the written word better sometimes) rather than phone but that's just me. I hope you get it sorted out.

Date: 2018-12-16 12:17 am (UTC)So far nothing weird is on the credit card.
I wanted to monitor my credit card on line, but the chase site wants me to put in my social security number... I am too scared for that.
I would change your password.
