They started the kitchen today. The contractor put heavy drop cloths up to section off the area, but the dust is still very very thick in the air. We could have never done this work with Ma in the house. Once all is said and down we are going to have to wash down everything.

Maybe it was good that Dad moved the fridge because the oven is also in the living room. I did not expect that.

I went over and inspected the sink area and I am pleased that there is no water damage or mold on the wood. I bet the plaster showed some as the tile was from the 1940s and the grout was missing.

They should be here tomorrow as it will be raining. I'd like them here Friday too as Dad is home and I want him to tell them what needs to be taken away. I just need to know if the electrician will be here this Saturday. I want to go out, but Dad is golfing.

No turning back now

Yay for no water damage! With old houses you never know what will turn up.

Seconding yay for no water damage.

So exciting! I hope everything goes quickly and you're able to enjoy your new kitchen soon.
