Oct. 20th, 2018 07:50 pmIt was a long day. Long Long Long. Todays's show was 8 hours and we go back for 7 tomorrow.
We did okay. I sold 3 items...the turkey, a small snowman, and a bunny, not a great reward for the stress I put myself through... but I know that was because I got sick and threw my scheduling off. Dad sold 6 flannel blankets so it was okay money wise...especially since the table was free. It is a decent amount to put in the heating oil fund. Anything I sell tomorrow will add to that so it is good.
The off thing is that the people coming in had no energy even though there was entertainment...Irish step dancers and Chinese Dragon and Kung Fu dancers. I did kinda dream up a comic book battle between the 2 ;-P
People liked my Christmas tree, but it is a big and pricey item. I know I can sell it if I put it on face book. I want to make a couple more.
The Church folks are concerned that things were so slow. The feedback from the vendors is that the hours are so spread out so people just trickle in and out. Most church shows are 1 day and from 10 AM to 4 PM. My friend runs one this way and she makes $10,000 for her church between table fees and raffles. Hopefully the folks bring this data back to the person in charge and they can do a one day show next year. If they do that I can take a table. I don't think I want to do 2, because you have to have a lot of product made in case you sell a lot one day...but if you don't ... well... you don't. I just don't like trying to make things in a factory manner. Making things like that is work to me and not relaxing.
Tonight I want to do some laundry and hang in my bedroom and sleep.
The next show is in 3 weeks, but I am just making wire wrap bracelets and not so demanding.
I want sleep and less stress for a bit.

Date: 2018-10-21 11:34 am (UTC)My table has a seasonal mix from fall pumpkins, Thanksgiving Turkeys and then a couple snowmen.
I do think it is too early for people to be thinking of shopping for gifts and many people in this demographic area may not shop often for themselves unless it is coffee and food.
I thought that we would sell a few more blankets as being typical Yankees many of us have this stupid game of not turning on the heat until the latest possible time...and we hit the 30f the other night.
