Friday I went out to listen to music with a friend. Since she knew the singer we stayed until Midnight and I slept on her sofa as the trains home do not run that late. It was a nice time.

I was home buy 11 AM Saturday and it has been pretty much work work work...

I am tired. Trying to make things for sale is hard because if you do not sell then you have waisted your time and resources used to make the items.

I think I have caught up from being sick so that I can just do a a couple of hours a night.

Tonight is shelter night. I am not happy. We have one red level dog that has a team, another red level dog that is reactive to all dogs and while hasn't bitten I can see that he will transfer his aggression, a dog that cannot be removed from its kennel as it s part of a court case, and he have a new snarling dog that was brought in on a muzzle. How the fuck do they think a dog that needs a muzzle is an adoptable pet? I am now afraid to even go to the shelter now.

The music night sounds fun!

It's a shame about the dogs and especially scary for anyone who has to deal with aggressive animals. Does the shelter keep animals even if they aren't adoptable?

we are a no kill shelter so we try and rehabilitate dogs that come in with problems...but sometimes a dog will be aggressive with us and we have to make the call to put down the dog. My issue is that I have an insurance company brain and wanted to be an underwriter. I usually spot the risk early, but others want to give more chances... until someone is hurt. As I get older I dont want to be the one who is hurt...as my health insurance is terrible.

I understand. Having concerns about your health insurance is a good enough reason to be very wary of aggressive dogs. I'm glad the shelter do try to rehome them. Sometimes a loving home and expert handling can help them become less aggressive.

I am planning on a couple of shelter free weeks.

It looks like we may have adopted out one of the dogs that has dog aggression... to a family that has adopted troubled dogs before... but they have a 13 year old so my fingers are crossed that there are no problems... this goes against my insurance worker brain.

I may have asked this before so forgive me if I repeat myself. But if you get bitten while volunteering, will the shelter help you out? :-\

No, the shelter is a non profit and you know the risks when you sign up. I could try to sue, but again, I knew the risk. This is why people should not work with animals that they are afraid of..even if they are cute and fluffy.
