yesterday I went to my beach in Ipswich. It was a lovely, lovely day. Not broiling hot, but warm enough to feel okay walking around in a bathing suit. The tide was high when I got there so no sand dollars were found. It was warm enough that the minnows were in the shallow...I love dancing with the minnows.

I ended up walking all the way down to the river. I had stopped doing that because I would fund myself annoyed with all the people who tie their boats up...they leave trash everywhere and bring dogs and don't pick up after them. Many of them also ignore the o trespassing signs for the protected dune areas. Yesterday I wasted and I was glad. The shoreline changed radically from last year. There were new inlets and peninsulas to explore...

At the end of one peninsula all of the little piping plovers had gathered. I have never seen this. They go to this beach to have babies and it is now the ned of season. They seemed to be waiting for a sign... one day soon they will get some signal to fly away en mass and not return until nest year.

In the middle of the flock was a young man and I saw he had a camera. He saw me and looked panicked. I waved at him and gave him a thumbs up and moved back... I knew that if I continued the birds would scatter and his photography session would be done. I moved back and he returned the thumbs up.

It's the swallows that turn up in in large numbers- I think we'll be having an early Autumn and they'll be off to Africa.

I so dislike those antisocial people who can't clean up after themselves or their dogs.

Plovers are lovely, we get a lot here being a watery Fenland landscape.
