Worked hard today. My back up back from maternity leave has been caught lying several times. She says she has finished her work and then the boss asks me to complete it and I find that there are several days worth of work missing. I am getting frustrated but I know that saying anything to blunt will just go against me and I will get "oh well she's a new Mom, or Oh well she has a lot on her plate"

Today the boss was working remote. This morning at 5 AM I fixed a week's worth of things... then she started asking me questions about my coworker. I kept the answers short and simple... and polite... Let her put the pieces together... and she did. She asked me if the coworker said anything about me bringing her accounts up to balance and current. No. She asked me what time the coworker left today. 11 AM... the was supposed to leave at 12:30. The boss will speak to her. I don't care what she says to her. My point is that we are not a team and I am trying my best to work as a team, but I cannot change this behavior and I cannot stop the dinosaur from acting like an Amish granny.

I worked 11 hours with no lunch or break. I am a career business operations person...it means I get shit done (wish I could carry that home)... Lets hope my boss gets it after all the things I fixed today.

I learned early on at work there are those who are conscientious, capable and able to up the gears if they need to work quicker...and those who aren't and can't. There are those who carry other members of a team and it's very frustrating for them. I had a junior clerk, she worked in the main office and my office was in another building. I think I was fair to her and I was pretty easy going and trusting. My boss found a lot of old unpaid invoices in her desk drawer (by accident as he was looking for a box of staples or something) and when he confronted her about it she told him I must have put them there when she wasn't looking to get her into trouble. I wasn't upset so much by the fact she hadn't been doing the work but that she was happy to try and blame me! No loyalty or conscience whatsoever. He fired her, not for failing to do the work but for lying in a way that made trusting her again impossible.
