This morning I opened up my email and lo and behold there was an announcement of a 70% off framing for 3 days only. So I am going to try and enter the Exhibition at the Rockport Art Museum.

Tonight I took the Shark painting in and left him there to be framed. The title of the painting is "Fins to the left" after the Jimmy Buffet song "Fins". It felt funny to leave it there. I picked a black frame that actually enhances the feeling of the painting, and will look good in my living room.

I do have to price the thing... Not sure if the Tourist elite will want an image of a Great White Shark instead of the light houses and sail boats that will fill the gallery, but we shall see. Maybe double what I would sell it to someone I know...plus the frame. The frame makes it Sexy.

That's a great deal on the picture framing. I have three I need doing but can't afford it at the moment. I think there might be interest in your shark, especially by those who love sharks and marine studies. It's a bit different to the norm.

I'm curious (nosy) as to what it costs to frame nowadays. I had a poster of The Garden of earthly Delights cut up and framed into a triptych back in *1980* and it cost well over a hundred bucks back then. :\

The biggest cost with watercolor is alway the glass.

Why, do you need a special non- or less- reflective glass so the colors appear natural?

I use a non glare glass that also protects against UV damage so my painting will never fade. This glass at 24 x 18 (because the glass also covers the mat area)it regularly $93.00. The frame itself is called black tie (and is sexy) would have cost $241 before the sale.

This is part of the reason why framed art is expensive. Then if you put it in a gallery you need to mark up the price just so you make your money back. This is why I could never do art full time. Right now I just like to make back my cost plus a little for the time.
