ravena_kadeFriday after work I did the food shopping with Dad and then headed for the commuter rail station to go to Lowell and meet up with Brickhousewench. We ate dinner out (a favorite thing to do...eat out with friends and have non family conversation) and then back to her house to stay over, have more non family conversation and meet her family of 3 kitties.
The kitties were really social. They are also sweet and entertaining. Even Mama kitty who can chase her kids around. 2 of the kitties were larger sized and reminded me how small my 8 pound boy cat is. They played with a strand and were pretty funny as they tried to figure what I was doing there. One of the kitties visited me during the night...said hello by walking on me and then went to sleep on the ottoman.
On Saturday we went to Market Day at BIRKA. For my non local friends it is a market place mostly for people who do some sort of reenacting. You need to attend in garb/costume. My pirate outfit is a fantasy pirate ...no real 16th century pirates wore orange... well, maybe Madame Chan...but I don't know a lot about Chinese pirates. I often find many interesting books, pottery, beads... and other things. I have not found a dress that I really like (to wear there...but I still look). Sadly I saw some pottery bows that I liked, but forgot to go back after lunch to get them. I did pick up some cute beads from Peru that are humpback whales. They will make cute summer earrings.
We did lunch with Guy_Todd and Allgudallthetim. Again...loved lunch. It is nice to share good food and conversation with friends. We ate at a little Italian restaurant that has awesome food. I was super impressed that the waitress remembered us from last year and even remembered one of us liked a double espresso after our meal.
It was a nice day and it really is good to have a recharge day in the middle winter.
