Sweet potato and carrot soup is fab. I will make it again. Maybe add parsnip too. I know I am a person who needs a mid evening snack... I just do because dinner at Dad time is just way to early. I think a cup of homemade soup is better than cookies. Yes, I am on the healthy eating thing/try again... I need to make my own comfort food and save desserts for the weekend only.

The washer died again and the drain will not drain. Sigh. No kitchen sink and no washer... the bathtub will be getting lots of use. The drain to the washer runs under the cellar floor so to get to the pipe we need to jack hammer.

It also makes ceramics harder as I need the cellar sink for water for the clay. I will have to use buckets up to the second floor. Dad says no...I say it's my house.

Veggie soup's got to be better than biscuits and it's one of your five a day into the bargain! :o)

Have you tried to roto-rooter it first? I think I'd at least try that before I started in with a jackhammer. I know when my parent's pipes backed up it was tree roots, and a roto-rooter bought them a couple more years before they had to do anything about the pipes.

Could the drain pipe also be just frozen? Any way to remotely apply heat? :(

I have been trying that with some luck. It is on an outside wall that my neighbor has snow blown in. I dug the area out this morning and I have been add ing boiling water to the drain too. It seems to be clearing.

What a pain that the washer won't drain. Sounds like a pump problem, I hope you can get it fixed soon.

Got the washer itself fixed. We are good with things with moving parts...
