Jan. 1st, 2018 07:03 pmMy friend was in the ER 11 hours. She actually fractured her femur back on 12/23. They spent a lot of time trying to decide about surgery, but her COPD is so bad they do not want to put her under anesthetic for the operation as there is a 90% chance she won't wake up.
At 3 PM today the decided to admit her and keep her over night for pain management. She cannot take opioid pain killers at all as they make her sick and when she is sick like that her COPD kicks in and she stops breathing.
The only good thing is that they have finally agreed to let her have oxygen.
