My sister has left the building.

The last couple of days have had me more exhausted than before. They wanted a huge holiday type dinner on Sunday but could not tell me what time. Then yesterday my Dad's sister and husband showed up at 3 pm to see my sister before she went home and I had to figure out dinner... while dealing with my Dad's restricted now including no salad greens diet.

Last night her partner told me how sad my Sister is to be leaving as she misses everyone, even the loud cousins. I do get it. I'd like to see them once or twice a month to do something fun. Seeing us would be easy if she'd get on a plane. I won't be comfortable for a while to bring Dad on a plane, but the first trip will be to Chicago and they can meet us (the next flight will either be Florida or Vegas...for Dad trips)

I am happy that I am no longer chaos maid.

I have Dad's next 2 Dr appointments scheduled complete with rides. He has been approved by the physical therapist for work, I just need the NP's release and off he goes. I am thinking May 1 because we need to see what the latest meds due with his blood pressure.

I have Friday off and Monday is a holiday so I am planning me time. I want to sleep past 3:30 AM. If it rains I get to put the house back in order. If is not raining I garden and go to the beach.

Oh,and Frankie brought me a gift this morning.. a mouse. Sad for the mouse, but my kitty does his job. Just happy he didn't bring one to me yesterday with company here.

I am glad that at least part of your burden has hit the road ;-).
I am curious as to why your dad's diet has a salad green restriction—that's like the most harmless food I can think of. Do greens have chemicals that can react with his meds?
And good job Franky. ;-) Maybe your dad can swap salads for mice. <:3))~~

Leafy greens have vitamin K. The K is good for clotting. He is on a blood thiner so his blood can easily go through the pump in his heart. They have to figure out his dosage and the salad will mess that up. Once they find his good dosage I can introduce a salad back once a week, but we are not there yet.

i was going to say this - they should be able to adjust his diet as long as they're monitoring his various levels.

Why can't dad have salad greens? I'm sorry I don't understand the diet thing as of course I'm under the guise that I -must- eat leafy greens because healthy



Was thinking humouroly too with Frankie and the "gift", had he bought it during company, you could have said "AAH! Dinner!"
And seen your annoying relatives scatter.....Finally, peace and quiet :D

Leafy greens have vitamin K. Vitamin K helps with blood clotting. They are giving Dad blood thinners so the blood can go smoothly through the pump and dont want the blood getting thick.

My sister would have freaked.

I don't wish them any ill will but OMG, how do they function? I know a lot of folks with physical limitations and autoimmune issues and I feel like they run rings around their..ah...abilities and preplanning.

I think whey function best when they are at home and just think of themselves. My sister's OCDs keep her bouncing around, but her partner is self centered and my sister has bonded to that personality trait and does whatever the partner wants/needs (except drive or get on a plain).
