Last weekend I did not make BIRKA, but I did manage to catch the plague from somewhere. Ive made it to work, but I have been crawling into bed as soon as I made Dad his dinner. Today will be a coma day once I venture out for supplies ... and I still have to make a dinner. Sigh.


The result of Dad's MRI is still not conclusive. There is nothing bad, but dilated veins behind his eyes. The cardiologist has reached out to specialists to see if this needs to be looked into further or if it will halt the LVad. More Limbo. I'm good with that for now.

The other night DQ called to ask about the MRI. I told her we had no results. She said that she would pray that he would be denied the LVad surgery. I do know that she knows I have anxiety over the procedure, but I took some offense. How about just prying that things will work out. No LVad means death by multiple organ failure really soon. Gee should I pray that her next fall ends with her in a nursing home as it would be easier? I shouldn't think anything like that, but how is she being helpful?

Next time DQ says something ridiculous like that, tell her to go fuck herself. She's crazy and not worth your time and the hard work you put into that relationship.

Personally I pray that whatever time your Dad has left is as peaceful and good and as long as it can be. I hope he can have the procedure and I hope it goes smoothly.
I also hope DQ falls in a hole.

given where i am now, and all your anxiety, i understand DQ's opinion, but it's not exactly helpful. i just keep hoping that whatever would be best for everyone involved happens, and that it isn't too hard for you to deal with when it comes, whatever it is. you're hella strong, and i do believe that life sends us challenges for a Reason :tm: but taking care of an elderly parent/child/friend is such a tightrope.

sending good vibes to kick the sinus infection! i still think using garlic, onion, oregano and other bug-killing herbs as a steam works wonders. tent the bowl with a towel and breathe the steam. or buy a Vick's nasal steamer and use oregano oil on the little cotton pad. this is the one that i use (though i bought it for a lot less money - yeesh): https://a.co/d/0iix2s9I

I think my anxiety stems from being called to do so many things at once so much that I actually am able to accomplish nothing. It's a strange dance...and I dont know how to dance.

And people are weird...they say that I dont reach out for help...but I do...and when I do I get shit like that. I understand the intent...but the wording is wrong. People say I am my Mother, but if I was I would have called DQ out in a WTF moment. Every day I understand my Mother more and more.

and I didn't know that about oregano oil. Im going to give it a try.
