So the boss bought my nasty deskmate a card and said she would get a cake for her. I asked if she needed any help as I know she isn't fond of this person. I passed the card around. I had to get to the VP before her left for a flight to PA. If was awkward as he didn't;t know that she was leaving nor did he know that that my boss's boss held nasty gal for month. He asked me where she was going and why... and all I could say is that I really didn't;t know because she was a private person.... I hope he could tell that I was trying to be diplomatic.

The oddest thing is that while my direct boss bought the card she actually refused to sign it. Weird.

Clearly the deskmate has upset the your boss big time. Mind you it seems that the deskmate has upset a lot of people by the tone of your post :)
