The wack job at work has a daughter who is expecting. They are going to have a gender reveal party Saturday. The couple are both 24?year old ex Marines who were only in for schooling and never left state side in 4 years. They are planning to reveal the gender of their baby by shooting a 2 military grade automatic rifles at pink and blue balloons and pieces of paper in the ballon will say the baby’s sex.

Guns at a baby event in your Auntie’s house? With children around? This does not sound like safe gun ownership... and I know people who safely own guns. Sounds like a Darwin Award here

Nothing like the baby shower and reveal stuff here- people just find it weird.

Is this in MA? Because there is absolutely nowhere they could do this legally outside of a certified range or private sand pit with at least 500 feet clearance. Also, fully-auto fire can only be done by civilians at especially certified ranges, like the Harvard R & G club. This is a party to avoid!!

Yeah, well, that explains a lot, actually. Hopefully their USMC training will kick in at some point and this will be done safely.
Personally I kind of think it's a neat idea but it could be executed SO poorly. (Pun intended!)
