Today I visited with my friend again. She looked very disheveled. I ask what was up. She was clear headed and clear eyed... and told me that she set off the cardiac alarms at 8:30 AM. She didn't feel a thing but a whole bunch of med people ran into the room. What ever happened was over as quick as it came. They did knock over he water onto her phone and then they dropped it while wiping it off. Oh boy. She also had a few more accidents where she needed to be cleaned up. I asked if she ate anything. She said she tried, but she felt queasy.

I called her roommate to tell her that the cell phone may not work right and that there was a cardiac event. I said that she was doing okay except she still had GI issues and felt queasy. The roommate, DQ, says that the queasiness was a lie. That she is choosing not to eat and is giving up. I said that doesn't fit with what she said to me. She spoke of getting out and going home. That she knew she had to eat . I was told I was being fooled. Umm... why. I guess at one point sick friend butt dialed roommate's phone and roommate heard her say to someone to take the toast away that she was not going to eat it. So she is lying to me. Sigh.

I asked what time was this? 9:30... well that was after the cardiac event and 15 minutes after she shit herself so I can imagine not wanting to eat. If she has C-diff then yes, the GI tract gets messed up. I know C-diff as I watched my Mother die from it. I understand that you may not want her to come home as you cannot take care of her, but don't put your words in her mouth. You are not there. If she were lying to me she could have said that she ate. That would be easy. Then I hung up.

At 2 I get a text asking if I would check on sick friend before I went home. DQ asked if she should come in. I said I would check, but there is no need to come in if you are going to gaslight a sick person. I'll text you

I went upstairs and my friend still was having GI issues. She had her phone in her hand and was watching TV for the first time in a month. I said I wanted to check on her before I went home. She seemed happy. I also told her not to hold the phone. Make sure it is on the bedside table. I told her not to tell that I told, but sometimes you mistakenly dial Roommate and she listens to you, but you don't know she is on the line.

Sigh.

I am going to shoot myself if I am ever not able to care for myself.

Roommate sounds like a joy. :o
Not to put words in her mouth, but she almost sounds like she doesn't want your friend to come home. :o

I hear you about being able to take care of myself. :o
Hugs, Jon

Has she not been sleeping?
Sounds like delirium possibly. :(
That happens so easily in the hospital.
So many things in my head that it could possibly be. :(

I'd put money on her having a UTI. That can mess with a patient's mental state like nothing else.
