I went up to see my friend 3 times today. The first time the door to her room was closed. Usually that means they are doing something with her. I came back an hour later with something for lunch. She was clear headed and clear eyed. Very talkative. So much better than yesterday. She said she could not eat lunch because she was on a clear diet for today. She said that they had to cage her twice already... and she needed another change. Ummm. Ummm... I noted the catheter container and it was the wrong color. I asked if she had any GI pain. She said no. I asked if she was hungry. She said yes and that she had 3 jello cups. A woman came to clean her up. I stepped outside. The woman went and got 3 people to help her. I waited by a window in the hallway. It took 20 minutes for the clean up.

I came back at 3. I was a bit horrified to find she was in a brown puddle. She had called the nurses station, but they were helping another patient who had fallen. They came, I went to my seat in the hall, and it was another 20 minutes to clean her up. I could hear that she was joking with them and they were kind and thorough.

I am concerned. I think she has C-diff. This is about when my Mother stated showing signs...although we did not know. They said it could have just been from the antibiotics. She only lasted 8 days.

I called the healthcare proxy. She didn't know what C-diff was. Sigh.

Wash your hands really well, if you are questioning Cdiff. :o
That is so maddening because people don't seem to be effected by that, and others can be hit hard. :o
I hope they can start getting things straightened out for her soon. :o

I sincerely hope it isn't cdiff, such a bad thing to have for anyone let alone someone already very vulnerable. I hope they manage to get your friend well again.
