The state of the Massachusetts train system

Today I booked the train adventure (as it is labeled) for the hike around dune trails at Crane's beach.

I go to the website and the details say that you take the 8;30 Newburyport train and at 9:30 meet the shuttle bus. There is a problem. There is no 8;30 train to Newburyport. There is a 7:30 and a 9:30. The 8:30 goes to Rockport and is mailed away from Ipswich....where Crane's beach is. I sent an email asking for clarification. I received a response within a minute (Yay). They apologized for the confusion. What they are doing is having us board the Rockport train, get off at Manchester by the Sea and take a shuttle to Ipswich. Umm... Ipswich is 16 mile from Manchester by the sea. Not only that, but Ipswich has its own train station. Only the MBTA could screw that up.

I hope this works out. There are other trips being offered as well. I hope to broaden my travels and maybe meet other singles trying a train adventure.
