Mar. 16th, 2025 07:47 pmSince this is St Patrick's Day Weekend I decided to go to the cousins house with Dad today. When I was a little kid we would go watch the Southie parade with the cousins. It was a family thing since my Mother's family all came from South Boston ( wouldn't set foot in South now for it...nor would I have in the last 20 years...it's just a big drunk thing).
The cousin recovering from the stroke is still no where near what the rehab said she would be. In the last week they have gone through 150 Depends. Many nights they change the bed 4 times. Her Urology appointment is not until mid April. She cannot walk alone or get out of bed alone. Her sisters ate having a hard time and are real bitchy with her. So Sad. Today I took her to the bathroom so the lead cousin could sleep. Dad and I also bought dinner from a local diner. She needs to go every 17 to 22 minutes. How exhausting.
Things perked up when company came to visit...Dad and I are not considered company. My 95 year old aunt became very conversational and entertaining. She likes being around other people. The stress of the family makes her shut down/off.
We left at 5. I used my shoulder pain as an excuse...but 5 hours is plenty. I seem to have injured my shoulder again, but this does not seem to be related to the rotator cuff. I hope it goes away.
