Today I am drained... like I needed to stay in bed and watch TV and fall asleep off and on type of day... not what happened... and I really can't just do nothing tonight.. I need to focus.

Today the phone issue with MasterCard was still an issue. The telecommunications area gave me a work around but it only worked for 1 single phone number.... it seems I have to have my phone's digital signature hidden from all MasterCard phone numbers...WHAT THE F.... I couldn't fight it so I pulled out my cell phone and called MasterCard. I apologized for the issues and being a special snowflake. The person on the other end understood my frustration and we joked that if I understood what was going on with the phone then I would work for the phone company and not the bank. In the end I had not misunderstood anything about the process, it's just that the man, while nice, does not have a clue. Arrrg.

This took 2 hours. I went over to the boss and told her what I had to do...and she just said "I heard you. Get the phones fixed. I am going to lunch" Yup..wicked supportive....

I am tired. Wish I could just work in a little store somewhere...

It's a pity I don't work where you work as telecommunications and keeping large corporate phone systems going was my area of expertise, in fact I looked after all the bank of Scotland's equipment and kept the systems running smoothly when I worked for BT (British telecom).

I don't know what sort of telephone system you have there, technology has moved on a long way. I think it could be either an outbound call routing thing that the telecoms staff should be able to programme in to allow calls or an access change on extensions to allow them to call out to Mastercard's number. Can you call out to other numbers and receive outside calls?

It sounds like there might be a problem with the pabx (a private automatic branch exchange) and if so your telecoms team need to call the operator.
