Today I worked from home. Yesterday the boss said she wanted to have me do all the month end reporting remotely and not to do my daily balancing until it was done. I agreed but said I was uncomfortable. What if there was a problem and I didn't identify it in time?

I plugged through a few reports and processed accounting. I had questions and she said I should think and look for answers, not ask questions, and not use the procedures. I sent an email identifying each step I took to come up with my answer . So super aggravating. I am getting tired of this schtick.

Sje is also wishing the process because she has Friday and Monday off and is not a patient person.

At 1 PM I sent and email with a question and she did not get back to me so I started my daily work. At 2 PM I found a problem...an $87,000.00 . I contacted the office manager trainee to see if anything was missed yesterday. I wanted to her to take a look and see if we could find it so I would not have to involve the boss. She said that they did everything yesterday so it must be my mistake. Umm...no. I emailed the boss and then sent a text so she could be aware that there was an 87K problem. She thought I had done something wrong. I said no, I don't have control of it. I went to the team but they didn't tale it seriously to do research. I explained everything again and then she "gets" stand starts swearing like Samuel L Jackson. She did apologize. I said I believe a file was processed correctly but no one will look into it. She hung up and called the office. She comes back and says that one of the tellers is shitting his pants right now. She also said that this proves that I was right about my work (No shit Sherlock) The tough part is that because this was caught at the end of the day file won't be processed until tomorrow. Even then bause it wasn't done right the vendors don't have to accept the charges so we could be out 87K.

The sad part is that the file was missed because the tellers were gooding off yesterday. They feel that because the boss isnt there that she doesn't care. Oh sh e cares. an $87000 loss could cost her her job.

From what I can see, you're doing all the right things. It's your manager who keeps f***ing things up.

Egads. What a colossal mess.

Sounds like YOU are the one who knows what they're doing and not your boss.

keep doing what you know is right. sorry I don't have a more profound or insightful way to say it.

and this is why you do daily reporting first. and you know that, because you've been working in the financial sector a LONG time. and, honestly, i sort of hope your boss IS out of a job. dumbass.
