Im finding things are getting a BIT MUCH. Sigh Boss came back from vacation and made me feel small. She said she wanted to put me on a performance plan... like it's my fault she is not teaching me. I said that would be fine as the training needs structure. She also wanted to move me into the corner. I don't mind that as I thought that the office manager trainee/supervisor should be the one hearing all the bs coming out of the new guy's mouth. Tuesday the boss sends an email about what we talked about and it was written so snotty that if my father's life wasn't dependent on me being able to get to THIS BUILDING for training and his surgery and therapy I would have walked out. The boss also wants me to have 2 set days a week to work from at home and they cannot revolve around Dad's Dr appointments. Hmmmm... This is no gift. It is stress inducing. Later that day there was a fight between the new guy and the others. The supervisor went over to him and said that his conversation with a customer really wasn't appropriate. He was telling the customer about the restraining order is sister put out agains hime so he could not get any of his father's money. It got crazy enough that the supervisor took him into the bosses office to reprimand him. Next Day the boss is in before I am. I get there at 5:45. I asked if everything was okay. I know her Mom is not doing well. I also thought that maybe she would fire this schmuck. Nope. She had a meeting and then was going to visit her Mother. I started right away (before hours) helping her with reports for her. 8:30 meeting. No firing. In the meantime the hospital has schedule more appointments without 24 hour notice and I can't cancel them on line and the office is closed when I get home so I can't cancel by phone when I get in. I had to call during work. It took over 3 hours. The appointment was with Infectious Disease. Turns out Dad has tested positive of Latent Tuburculousis. WTF. WTF. WTF. A doctor finally called me back. He is not contagious, but it could turn into regular TB any time and they need to treat so it doesn't. The only place he could have gotten contaminated was in his recent hospital stay. I guess they give some sort of antibiotic for a few months. I don't know if this means he can't have the heart pump. In the next 2 weeks I have 8 appointments. 4 are on Veteran's day so It doesn't interfere with my work. The rest do. Sigh. My friend with the ceramic shop lost her Mother this weekend. Sad. The funeral service is on the 7th. My Mother's anniversary. I asked if I could work 4 hours from home because it's time for Month end reports and I cannot miss any training. Today the boss asks me to look for a chair for Gus. He said that the one he uses when the other coworker is out if fine. Looks like she is not going to fire him. His 6 month probation period is up on Nov 6th. I looked up the chair that the coworker has... it was on sale for $99, regularly $300. She liked the savings. Trouble is that it is only rated for 175 pounds. It won't. last. Oh well, not my issue. I was supposed to work remote today so I coold get ready for a craft show. I could not because of the way the boss moved my desk. Instead of allowing us to unplug the old computers and just move them she thought IT could just switch the "brains" around. Fitting for Halloween, but if really didn't work.. That and the IT guy needed remap the laptops and could not do it that day. The boss sounded annoyed when I said that I could not work remote like I planned because of the IT guy. Tomorrow I planned to do a craft show with the friend with the ceramic shop. Turns out that she is only going to be there an hour as she has a funeral to play music at in the Morning and then plays music at the 4 O'clock mass. Ummm... I said I would do it together...not sit there and sell her stuff for her. I am annoyed, but don't want to address it because her Mom just died and this is a sucky time of year... and I am sure singing at some one else's funeral mass will be a tough thing to do. Sunday is the Animal Shelter Volunteer dinner. The organization is 25 years old this year. It started in 1999. I started a few weeks before, but that board of directors fell and a new one was made... I did receive a call from the volunteer coordinator who wanted to apologize fir me not being honored at the dinner because no one could find my application... That's because I started before this board. Bah. I should be used to shit like this. When they move in January I will need to give up my Monday night shift as there is no way I can commute home, deal with Dad and get there by 6 PM. Maybe I can do something once a month after Dad's surgery... or maybe not. We shall see.

Massive UGH to your dad having TB.
Any chance anybody over to the cousins have it and that's where he got it?
I hope they get him on the antibiotics quick and get it taken care of. :o

The cousins have been tested for everything under the sun since a sister has the multiple myeloma.

Has your dad been tested lately?
Wonder if it's been in him for awhile now. :o

He could have had it for years. He works with a lot of people who travel back home to places without healthcare and come into work sick so he could have got it there, or at a casino. It was only caught because they test you for EVERYTHING before you get okay for the heart pump or a heart transplant.

Keeping good thought that this is just a little hiccup.

Don't you have TB vaccinations over there?

Yes we do. I know I have mine.

My Dad should have had one when he was a child, but he was poor and didn't go to school so I can't say for sure. Maybe if he did it is the reason why it is a Latent version and not full blown TB. Or maybe after 80 years it ran out? These are things I will ask about when we have the doctor appointment for it on the 14th.
