Today the boss came back from vacation. I had sent her emails about questions I had on my self guided training. I really need to get the month end reporting down. I had questions with some issues where the tellers had made mistakes, but I didn't have the training to tell them what they did wrong... as it is not my job... and they didn't care to look into when I pointed out the discrepancies. Sigh. She was getting angry. Actually biting her hand and biting her thumb like you see old Italians do. I told her that I know she is angry, but I don't know if it is at me or the situation. She said it wasn't me. I said well you need to tell me if it is. I own my own shit...I may not marry it, but it's mine to own and I prefer constructive dialog. She did look at some of my figures from a June and July report and told me they were wrong. She ever check my reporting...ummm usually trainers do that. She left me some figures and just said to redo my work but wouldn't tell me when the errors were. Ummmm...I need to know what I am misinterpreting. She left before I could ask her about the discrepancies in her work. Once again she asked me what I needed to be trained. I am getting sick of this stance. I told her that training was like accounting in many ways. In accounting every credit needs a debit. When you train someone every question needs an answer. I don't expect answers in an instant, but I need the answer with a couple hours. I asked if I could work remote on Friday. She asked Why. I told her that my friend's Mom passed away and the funeral is at 11. That and it is the first day of the month and I have 15 reports I would like to get done. She said she wants me to work remote on Tuesdays and Wednesdays not Fridays. Umm sure... I know that is a control thing. I said okay, but I will have to come in for Dr appointments for Dad. Those weeks I will need to come in those days. I can always schedule cardiologist appointments on Fridays. She never responded to my email or answered any of my training questions before she left and will not be back for another week. It frustrates me to no end. I want to learn this but she won't commit to training. If she would show me the f'ing reports I could just type away all day and not be bothered by anyone and be in the same building that my Dad needs to be at for cardiac care and surgery. All in all it should be a good match. It is extremely stressful not being able to walk away because if I do my Dad cannot have the surgery and will die because I could not do this at another job.

a) she's always on vacation or working from home and...
b) she hasn't a clue what's she's doing.

this. i think it's awfully convenient to blame someone for not automatically being good at a job when you yourself don't seem to be around to help them learn it.

I would be sooooo tempted to ask your boss if she's ever trained anybody before.

Wow. I am so sorry that this is how the job worked out. What a disappointment.

Your so-called boss is a mess, isn't she? Gawd. Or maybe she is scamming the place and is keeping you in the dark so you won't be able to collect the evidence.

Life is exhausting.

wow. i hadn't even thought of that, but the bookkeeping being off for awhile could actually be covering something like that. yikes. :O
