Things have been stressful at work.

The boss says I should go to her for help and resolutions.

I am getting the run around and it frustrates me... The run around from global companies ...VISA and MASTERCARD. I am a pee on. I should not be setting policy. I should be given procedures.

The boss says go to her if i get the run around.

Then yells at me because she says I am confusing her...

I got mad, but just held up my hands...

you can take that as I give up, but more truthful it is "see my hands are empty...I don't have a club to smack you with.

...but what I have really done is proven is that she does not have a clue as to what I do and that she is totally dependent on my trainer... and by yelling she was never really interested in helping or telling me how to do it the way she wanted... I would have settled for that as I was getting the run around...

and now all communication from me, aside from good morning and good night, will be in writing... That won't be too hard as she doesn't like talking to me anyway.

It is disappointing...

I have 5 months before I can post out.

It all sounds frustrating and upsetting for you. As your line manager it is her ultimate responsibility to give you guidance and support and be able to communicate what she wants.

Putting everything in writing is a good idea, if only for some sort of record for how ineffective and inept she is as a boss.

It just bothers me that I can't be who I am where I work. I don't think I am a bad person... but being liked is a huge thing in the work place.

Considering most people spend a huge portion of the lives at work I think it's really important that people feel happy and, as you say, can be themselves.

how does she justify her reviews? It sounds like she has NO IDEA what anyone does or their skillsets

She has been there 35 years and I have no idea how she justifies the review. My reviews have all been "I have nothing to say"... and that's it.

Today we had a luncheon for the VP that was let go. At the table we were talking about something and I mentioned that I can be high strung (as the VP doesn't know my personal life) and the manager says ...No kidding. I am curious how she would even know since I am severely edited in work as I know we would not be friends (too bad as I wanted to like her). ou have seen me when I am myself... I don't think I am that bad a human... but she has an opinion...
