a bit of both...and in all the years I had the set only one person would play with me. But really I think it is time to pare down on some things as we may need to move or I may need to drop down to the first floor.
I used to paint chess sets for a man who lived in Washington DC. He was part of a chess group that gave chess sets to young underprivileged children...they taught them chess and would teach them chess to try and give them a place to go after school and stay off the streets. He would send me all sorts of sets cast in plaster and I would decorate the,. I painted Egyptian, Mayan, ones from Fiji, and India... They were really interesting to do. If was a good time in my life.
