Found out yesterday that Frankie has stage 2 kidney failure. All I need to do is encourage him to drink more...not sure how to do that. The other is to give him an omega 3 liquid supplement. Not bad. He needs to go back in 6months for more labs.

Poor Frankie. Do you feed him wet food as that has moisture in it which the dry food doesn't. My cat likes anything in jelly or sauce.

gah. <3 when i was trying to get Brigid to drink more, i found a low-sodium chicken broth suggestion, but it didn't seem to work very well. i also know the cat fountains help keep water fresh and so i switched to one of those for my furballs... though i keep thinking about buying a second one. just sending love.

it can't have onion or garlic or some other stuff in it, though, so i'd google it. it basically has to be just chicken-flavored water. i have to say the cat fountain worked very well. it just needs a new filter every month. but worth it.
