Last week the office manager trainee was on vacation. Before she left she showed another coworker how to bring in a file manually in case there was a problem and it did not come in. The Monday she was out the file did not come in. Let him know. He really didn't understand what he was doing. I was not involved in the training and was out the last day that the OM trainee trained him. He did not want to do anything. The boss was in and heard my conversation with him. He ended up doing it after the boss said he needed to. The next day the file did not come in. The boss emailed me and asked how it went. I said it didn't work. She tells me to tell the guy that he has to call for tech help. He didn't call until after lunch then he asks me to take the phone as he does not know what to say. I have experience talking to IT help desks so I did not mind.
There were a couple of questions for the boss so I called her to get the info for the IT people. She was mad at me. Ranted how I need to pay attention to bookkeeping. Actually said "Do I need to force you to work from at home to focus on your job and not get involved". I had walked out of the brach and was down the hall by the morgue for some privacy. I have a thing that I don't like getting chastised on my own personal phone... too much of an urge to just disconnect the call. I said Look. I am trying to get back $10,000 as my account was short and I am only trying to make things right. The other guy had no clue what to say to the IT people and dint think it was important so he passed the phone to me. I did what he was shown, it didn't work, so it's not his problem. It's my problem because I am out 10K. And you had me tell him what to do instead of calling hime yourself... not that I mind...I don't, but here I am at the morgue getting chewed out for trying to help.
Frankly it irks me that she thinks that being involved with the rest of the team is keeping me from training, when what is keeping me from training is the fact that the trainer doesn't want to show up or phone call.
The next day the file was still not there. The coworker that was supposed to fix the issue just shrugged. The boss emails me and asks if we have the 10K. No. She asks me to ask the other guy to make a call back to the IT people. I wanted to say that I should not be involved, but didn't. I told her that I told the guy to call. He did not call until 2:45 PM and left a message and announced that he did his Due Diligence. Ummm...I know you don't know what that means.
Friday we received an email that there was an audit and the boss asked us all to pitch in and put together data. This guy, another teller, and the new guy, Augustus were all trying to forge the audit evidence. They asked me if I know how to manipulate the data. I explained that they should not do that and that they should not worry because the data they were putting together was processed almost 2 years before they were hired. They could nit get in trouble for missing info. They needed to tell the boss. They didn't want to. Sigh. I asked if any of them had ever seen an old 60s TV show called Hogan's Heroes? Augustus had. I told them I was Sargent Shultz... I know nothing, I see nothing... I showed them a you tube video.
Both the boss and the office manager trainee were in and asked about the 10K. I still didn't have it. The OM trainee asked why the coworker did not do what she trained him to do. I don't know you should ask him. She asked how I got involved. I said that he asked me to because he didn't understand. She made a face. I said Yeah, I was played, but if I said no I'd be the jerk. She fixed the issue in 4 minutes. The boss asked if she trained the coworker. She said yes...4 days of training.
Later I trained with the boss. I came in with some reports that I did on my owns and a mock up of the accounting needed to close the Month of July. As we trained she said that she would have to get me a laptop. I said yes. I'd like one because if we have a blizzard I am not going to make it in. If the redline is down, I am down. Our training went well. She said she would come in on Tuesday as we were on a roll.
At 9 PM I get a text. She had to take her Mom to the ER and would not be able to come in. I understand. I really do.

And your trainer has more excuses for not doing her job. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
