Jun. 7th, 2024 07:50 pmToday was a good day at work. I was able to do some month end reporting. The boss checked in to see if I had enough to do. I said yes..I am going through her rewritten notes and trying my hand at the reports. I called her several times as I had found errors. It was productive.
I did start at 5:20 because Dad had a cardiologist appointment. Glad I started early. It is a plus for me to work in the building with the cardiologist and the hospital that will do any surgeries. Today's appointment had some major complications. Not with Dad. He is fine. The hospital went through a change in computer systems this week. Things are so bad that they had 30 therapy dogs in the building just to help people de stress. My usually 25 minute appointment took 3 hours. Eat time you saw someone they had to enter a ton of info because the data on the old system wasn't available in the new system yet. Oi. It took over 90 minutes to get a blood draw because the techs drawing the blood needed to fill out pages and pages of info before they could get the system to make the labels.
Oh and in the middle of that they had to evacuate the floor for a small electrical fire. Oh boy. The boss was totally fine with me being gone and so were the established coworkers. The new guy made an accusatory comment, but reminded him that I was not customer service, but if you have questions you should just ask the boss. On the spectrum or not, this guy is not a team player and a giant red flag.
Since it was nice out and Dad was going to the cousins I decided to do a little exploring around work. I walked from The hospital to Kenmore Square, right past Fenway park. Also right past a favorite art supply store. It only took 15 minutes. There were many things I would like to go back and take photos of. I also found a commuter rail station close to work that could get me out west instead of going to South Station. It felt good to explore. I hopped on the green line trolly at Kenmore and I made it home just 15 minutes later than usual and I had done all that. That means the trains are getting back to normal (YAY).

Date: 2024-06-09 04:58 am (UTC)Well, minus the idiot newbie. Ugh...
WOW, that mess of changing the computer system sounds like something my boss would do.
We are doing a complete change of your time card/time off request system.
They have been changing it for months and still don't know exactly what all the answers are going to be for the different changes. How we find our assignments is completely changing on June 19th and a week or two ago I asked one of my supervisors where were are supposed to find our assignments and she looked at me and said, To Be Determined, we don't really know yet.
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And as far as the time cards go, I can see massive mistakes being made and people not being paid properly. :o
Hugs, Jon
