Jun. 3rd, 2024 09:33 pmI am loosing my patience at work.
The boss keeps telling me I am not where I should be but she won't sit with me and tell me what I am doing wrong. She doesn't want me to know it by procedure. She wants to think it...feel it.
I have been working on the same report for a week. I try to recreate past months reports and I keep coming up with different totals than she gets. She tells me that all of my loan totals should equal the loan total on the balance sheet. I say I can't get it and I have isolated the loan type that is giving me the problem. She says I should not compare, but just get the total. I say I have to compare as I am not getting the total so I look at the past reports... find out what figures I am getting correct and identify where I am having a problem. It's simple, but not working. Sort by column S and then total column K. Column S gives me loan type and K is the amount. But when I do that it does not match her figures... and instead of showing me, she says Think and then leaves to visit her Mom in the hospital and may not be back until next week.
So now I am afraid to say anything else because she thinks Im not thinking.
I'm taking bookkeeping classes on line. They won't show me how to use her spreadsheets. They won't tell me how to do credit union reporting.
How do I ask questions on the procedures if she doesn't want me to use procedures, but just thinking won't show me what is wrong? I am beginning to think her figures are wrong, but she submitted them anyways.

Date: 2024-06-04 02:03 pm (UTC)If you get a different total, it should at least be looked at. Maybe there’s a good reason, maybe she was wrong before. But, just saying “think!” Is stupid…

Date: 2024-06-05 10:34 pm (UTC)I don't want someone managing my money to feel it. I want them to have documented, repeatable procedures.
I think your new boss is flakey AF.
