May. 9th, 2024 10:00 pmThe boss was in yesterday. She made the new guy sit up front so he could shadow the 2 tellers. He will be stationed there so he shouldn't be hi dinging the the corner annoying me.
I had a one on one 90 review. The boss had never done one before and she wondered if she was doing it right. She does not have a corporate background while I have 40 years of it. We are on the same page. She needs me to do more but can't until she trains me. She feels that I am trainable. It's just timing.
Today I feel validated that the boss trusts me. She called and asked for a favor and said I could refuse if I wasn't comfortable. Ummm...okay. It turns out she could not find her Mother. The Mother was supposed to be moved to Boston yesterday morning. The mom called her at 6 AM and said she was alone and she didn't know where she was and was afraid. She's 88 years old and if having cognitive issues since her heart surgery in April. Milton Hospital said she want there, but Boston said the same thing. She asked if I could find anything out since I knew the cardiology departments at the hospital. Ok. Her Mom told her that she could see buildings out the window so she thought she was in Boston. I said that some of the windows at Milton face trees, others face a parking structure that the mom could think was a building. The boss asked me to ask the information person upstairs to see if her Mom was in the building we are in. Well the volunteer woman in this building has the personality of a brick and doesn't really want to work so I went over to the information desk in the emergency ward. I pretended to be my boss and I let just enough of my work ID show so they knew I was a fellow employee, but hid the credit union part. Since I was a fellow employee (looking for her Mom) the woman wanted to help. I had the Mom's birthday, address, and even last 4 of her social. The information woman found the Mom, even quoted the days she was in the hospital and the last tests she had. She also found that she was still in Milton and had not been moved to Boston as they needed a bed to open. I should have not been able to get that info, but I did. The boss had been trying to call, but it was shift change and she had to leave messages.
I also had a call from the cousins. Lead cousin is not feeling well and she needed to come to Bost to get medicine for the sister with cancer. She was wondering if I could get it at the hospital pharmacy. I did and dropped them off at the house. The cousin with cancer looked so much better than the last time I saw her and she was more herself. The cement injections in her spine really eased up on her pain. She could actually walk. It was good to see that. On Tuesday they start her radiation treatment in the spine. 10 days worth plus chemo on Tuesdays. He doctor also told her that she should stop using a wheel chair and use the walker as a lot of pain was in her muscles and she needs to get moving.
