Apr. 19th, 2024 10:17 pmThis week was interesting.
The boss was in everyday. Sadly last Friday her mom had a heart issue and then had a heart attack in the hospital. The boss slept in her mom's room all weekend. They put 2 stints in and the mom did well, but she had a weird UTI and was very confused and was acting strange so the kept her. The boss took her Mom home today and will stay at the Mom's house next week just to watch her. The confusion should go away as the UTI goes away.
I like working with the boss. I learn things when she is there. My learning has been very spottyy and I feel it. My goal is to start doing Month end reporting from previous months and compare to what is out there, but I don't has a list of what needs to be done.
At one point the boss was really agitated about a report. She needed to fix something but could not do it at my work station. We went into her office. I said I know that you are agitated, but I need to know if you are agitated at the report, the situation or at me? I said I was real good at spotting the agitation even if it is slight as I had 4 years of it working alone in my kitchen working on reports made by other's that didn't work. And if it is me that s stressing you, you need to tell me. I'm a big girl. I can take it. She apologized and said it wasn't me. It's just that she is having a hard time carving out the time to train me and was still rather mad that the guy who left didn't give her more warning so he could have trained me. I said I get it. I really do.
And while my coworkers are really nice and have good customer service skills, they really don't understand what they are doing, nor are they invested in the success of the tiny bank. As soon as the boss goes they screw off. Oh well... I work next to them, not with them and they are nice. That's all I can ask for.
