Yesterday I had to do shopping...crazy the day before a holiday. We went to the clam box for lunch. They have brought back hand cut fries and they do not salt them when they come out of the fryer so Dad can have them. They are very good. Its a quick place to go because fish and chips are often the lowest sodium fast food options out there.
Last night I made home made BBQ sauce and got the crock pots going for the pulled pork and backed beans (all low sodium) and this morning I was up at 6 finishing off the beans and pulling the pork. It takes a bit to pull because Dad doesn't like any fat at all and wont eat anything if he sees it. My mother took so much time trimming everything for him. He is so spoiled. His sister is the same but has become vegetarian. I also made coleslaw and a potato salad with hard boiled eggs.
There was a surprise last night. My cousin had chemo Friday night and yesterday he numbers were good and her blood did not need cleaning so she came home at 9 PM last night. Fingers cross that she is ready. I hope people don't just decide to drop by today and see her as it will be overwhelming...my family is not smart.
