Mar. 28th, 2024 09:50 pmThe boss said that she would be back next week. Sigh.
Today I wanted to make sure all the monthly bills were paid. It took some time. I am trying ti put together the movement of funds. It's hard without any context. I think I made a mistake in an accounting transaction on Tuesday. I tried tracking it, ut the system doesn't have a way to recall batch transactions. That is stupid. I don't feel too too bad because the boss approved my transactions before they were posted.
Dad met me after work and we visited my cousin in the cancer ward. She didn't look as bad as I imagined. She looked really rough the last Sunday I saw her. She looked weak today but not in pain. That was good. They have fitted her with a chemo port that she will probably have until October. They also had what looked like a snorkel Sticking out of her neck and sticking up just over the top of her head. She looked a bit the Borg (a Star Trek species) They use it to suck out her blood and wash it of extra proteins and calcium. This cancer can make your blood sludgy. They told her that they wanted to wash her blood 2 more times and give her 2 more cho treatments then they would send her home with a nurse visiting. They are not sure if she will have chemo once or twice a week until the fall.
They haven't mentioned her loosing her hair. Her sisters think it won't happen. I know it can take a couple weeks... the effects are cumulative. I think she will do okay with it because she has felt like crap for over a year...sick and in lots of back pain. If they alleviate the pain then she won't care... She just needs to stay out of the sun.
