On Sunday I went to the cousins with Dad and made everyone dinner. I know I can help with food. Patient cousin wasn't doing as well as Dad said she was on Friday night. I was surprised. She was in the living room with people and not coughing, but seemed not following things, and rather weak. They were having her used a bathing treatment thing as they thought it was the bronchitis. I thought maybe it was turning into pneumonia Then the pro bother who had the heart surgery comes in and they tell him about the cancer. I would have thought they would have said something when he got released from the hospital. He did well, but I could tell he was hurt that no one was going to tell him unless he came over. They lied to him and said that they just told me and Dad today too. It was very uncomfortable.

Today I get a call in work. The lead cousin wants to update me. I thought the appointment where they find out the test results was on Thursday..then they would tell people. They wanted me to call my uncles and sister. Well it seams lead cousin wanted to take her sister to the ER on Monday because she forgot how to sign in on her lap top and hadn't given anyone else at work or at home her passwords. She refused to go. Yesterday lead cousin got her to go to the ER...she was too confused to say no. Her doctor sent her to the hospital in Needham and not Boston because he thought it was closer ...ummm...wtf... I don't understand why she did not have an ambulance bring her to Boston (the hospital I work at). The found out her calcium had spiked and that was causing the issues. They treated her for that and want to transfer her to Boston because while they can run tests they cannot actively treat cancer. Now they have to wait for a bed to open in Boston... They took the Mom in to visit and they would stay as long as they could. I thought that was good as she may not be able to have visitors when they start treating the cancer....if they have to do emergy treatment.

The cousins have not looked up any info on this. I have... I know someone who had it... not a relative so I don't know if this is the type I can get via genetics. One treatment they doo basically destroys the cancerous white blood cells so you need to be isolated so no one brings in any germs. I dont know if her insurance will cover that.

I also know that you can get a calcium spike because your bones are starting to be dissolved from the cancer and the calcium is dumped into your body.

Sigh.

Sad.

Sorry they are so self unhelpful bordering on destructive.
I know they're your family, but you're giving an awful lot to folks who don't even seem to understand that...

Your family is not good with communicating or taking care of their health, are they?

It's amazing how quickly calcium can mess up a body/mind. :(
Sending my best for her.

Your family probably don't realise just how much you do to ease any complications in their lives. So easy to take you for granted :/
