The commute was 2 hours. The train part took an hour for 1 stop. A stop that back in 2022 work 7 minutes. There have been many many many weekends that the tracks are closed so they can work on them. Is the work to sabotage the track?

The boss did not show up today. She worked remote. When I am on a roll I can do my daily reconciliation in an hour and 10 minutes. She has to approve my posts to the general ledger accounts. I email. She doesn't respond for 5 hours. Meanwhile I cannot move forward until I do that posting. It's frustrating and I am bored. There is a lot I want to learn, but can't if she doesn't come in.

I found out that 2 out of the 3 coworkers have laptops. They download files on days that we are closed, but are not federal holidays. They don't seem to get paid for that. They also can't work remote if they need it. Interesting.

Tomorrow contractor cousin has his open heart surgery. I hope it works out. He has delayed the surgery by 2 weeks because he couldn't decide if he wanted it.

It does seem like a less than satisfactory working situation :( It's not fair that the boss being able to work from home actually impinges on how you can work.

Frustrating that your boss is holding you up like that. Is there some way that you can text her or phone if you're waiting more than an hour for an approval?

What's the point of having laptops if you can't work remotely? At every single job I've had for the past twenty years, being able to work remotely was the entire reason why we had laptops instead of desktops.

Oh I have texted her. She says that she will get to it. Hours later... She is throwing off my momentum.

Yeah, the lap top thing is very one way. I understand that tellers need to face the public, but these guys also do other things with people's accounts. They wont attract young smart talent... and if they do they will leave in less than a year...like the guy I replaced. If there is a blizzard they could still work. All take the T. The guy takes a bus from Lynn to Wonderland in Revere, the the blue line to the orange line and they a shuttle bus. I know I am not interested in walking a mile to the train in a blizzard.

The cousin did well. He is home and back to his old bad self.
