Today the trainer was out and the boss was in. Her training methods differ from how I was being trained. The trainer was going at it so I could do the morning balancing, but I was not given a lot of background. The boss wanted the background part so she will do that when he leaves. She has not wanted to give up her work from home while he was in.

She had a lot of rapid fire questions for me. I am not shy and had no problem telling her what I did and did not know and why the trainer did what he didi. I have trained many people over my 40 years of working. I got the quick and dirty because he will be gone tomorrow at noon.

Next week the boss will come n from Maine and stay till lunch and then go home. It's weird as she places her work from home as a priority while the staff is told they can't. You won't keep a younger team that way. They will resent it. Right now I don't need it. If I last here in a couple years I will push for the ability to work remote in case of storms. At 62 I will not be walking to the Train station in a blizzard. If I need to take my ss early I will and then work at a market. I don't care.

Today one of the tellers had their first year anniversary. It is such a new crew. The other 2 have been here 6 months.

I’d resent it if my boss didn’t go in, but expected me to.
One of my folks does go in more than me, but I’ve made it clear they don’t need to.

That's pretty crappy that she thinks of herself first like that.
Although, pretty typical management. UGH........

We have some nursing stations like that at the hospital, VERY young nurses. :o
We had a respiratory tech on last night that just turned 21, and a couple of the nurses said they were old enough to be her mother, and I said, I was old enough to be her grandfather. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs, Jon

Wow, that IS a young crew! Our team at work has seen quite a bit of turnover as well. My new supervisor (who came in last Spring) is really trying to get people paid better, because (other than turnovers of managers, and vastly different styles/structures being a cause of losing people) we think that's a huge reason people leave.

I would be a little bitter about not being allowed to work from home either. I feel grateful that I can work from home in bad weather too, which is nice.
