On Friday my sister called me. I asked how she was and she went hysterical. Her 11 year old Great Dane wasn't doing well and my sister knew that she had to make a decision. The dog has a throat issue that is not allowing her to swallow properly and is not getting the food she needs. My sister has never had to do this. Its hard. I have...and hell, I made the decision for my Mother. It hurts.

I told them that there are places that will come to your house so you don't have to move your pet if they are afraid or you just want to be at home.

Today they made the choice.

Very Sad.

Good on her for keeping a Great Dane going that long! Clearly she gave that pupper the best life, and what a gift to be able to lift suffering from a kind spirit one last time.

Yes, very sad. And those are tough decisions, like with your mom. I had to do that with my dad. Sighh.
