I had to apply for 3 jobs today so I could get my unemployment. Everything is so specialized. Everything requires a degree. It's depressing. I have started applying for hotel cleaning. Sigh. I'd make a good house cleaner. I have done it a little before. I m just looking for full time so I can get healthcare.

If I get a no from the bank then I will see if that cousin can get me anything at the treasury. I just have to ask without his mother being there. I dont want to set myself up for that, but I also want to keep my apartment.

I keep wanting to suggest put down that you have a degree, fake it.....As so many places now just gloss over it, doesn't seem like they check or confirm.....But I also know it's not what (you) should do, because someone MAY do a background check and call you out on it.

A few years ago I took the year of graduating college off my LinkedIn profile, and, off of my "generic" resume, as I was worried about Ageism and with only a 24 year old bachelor's, it not being "enough" and they'll just look past me. blah blah blah

I feel like sometimes we're forced to game the system, fool the filters and robots and programs looking for the magical special words that'll get us noticed by the company, but, yeah, at the same time, that's not genuine, or, well, legal, etc etc etc. It feels so impossible. we can't game the system and beat the robots, but we can't let them take over either. Ugh.

game the system...yes...and the system is a game. The thing is that some people are great workers but the suck at the game. That's me. I have never been one to play games. I am good at some things and I am open to learn others so I can do them well. But I do not game well at all.

yeah. the whole "ace the interview game" i was totally baffled with coming out of college, and generally causes me anxiety. and the whole "corporate culture game" or "blue collar workplace game". it just sucks ass.

they keep telling you to "be yourself" and "be authentic" and "be honest" then in the same breath tell you it's all a scam and you need to game the system, they need to choose a fucking lane.

honestly, i'm pretty sure i suggested the same. if you get a good feel and want to come clean in the interview, maybe. but to get a foot in the door... i dunno. just seems so crazy when employers are complaining about not having enough decent workers.
