Good Afternoon Jennifer,
I received this from the CEO at the credit Union:

First, I need to sincerely apologize, as we must cancel you again. Second, please do not think we are putting you off or have changed our minds. You are the candidate that has made the final round with me. However, three out of six employees are sick today (including me), so not sure it will be in your/our best interest to have you come into the office tomorrow. I do not want to delay this process either. Maybe we could do another Zoom interview prior to the physical visit? At least we can come to a tentative decision, with the caveat that you see the office of course.

I feel terrible to do this to you...again. Please know this is highly unusual and not standard practice for us. We truly are a great place to work. If I haven't turned you away from wanting this position, let me know if later this week would work for a Zoom interview. Preferably in the 9 a.m. timeframe.

Sincerest apologies.
Joette

I emailed her back saying that I appreciated her caution and that this does not negative reflect on my wanting to pursue a position at the credit union. I am available any day this week for a zoom meeting.

Frankly I do appreciate her making contact. I don't want to bring crud home to my Dad...even if he is out galavanting. If he gets crud, it's his fault, not mine.

I understand that the universe hands out scenarios so you can learn from them. I get the impression that it wants to to learn patience.

The thing is I have patience. I worked with developmentally changed and neurodiverse adults as well as people in their 90s. What I have is anxiety... and it's wired in.

If someone gets mad about it, it gives some insight into what it might be like to work with them.
Easy going folks might have an advantage…

Annoying, but as you say, I guess it's for the better. :(

That is a very sincere letter, how kind. Hope it works out - if it ends up being something you want.

Weird stuff happens during job hunting. When I was applying at one job, I sent in my email cover letter and forgot to include the attachment with my resume. I was so embarrassed when I got the email back saying that they were interested in seeing my resume. I sent it in... And then HR lost it on their desk over the Fourth of July holiday. I think they contacted me again in August when they realized they had dropped the ball.

So things don't always go perfectly. I did end up getting that job, even with all the weirdness.
