Stunned to find out that someone I know on FB could only get a job at a parking lot. Sad. Makes me nervous.

The senior center did not call me today. My last communication was on Friday sating that today was good for a zoom call. Then sent an email via indeed at 2:59 on Friday and I responded at 3:05. I cant even tell if they read it. I sent a message today at 11:15. No reply. I am too desperate to save myself from corporate... I just need healthcare and mortgage money.

I have an interview with a credit union out of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. The commute will be dodgy if I get it, but it is in the same place as Dad's cardiologist so if it is not a teller position I could just go to his appointments without too much fuss. I can only hope. The posting said they wanted a degree, but I have been through 2 phone calls already. This meeting is with the CEO of the credit union. Pay has not been mentioned yet. Frankly I don't understand the point of talking with the recruiter if they dont know about the job or if they will take someone without a degree. I thought it was their job only to send viable candidates to the hiring people.

My unemployment if halfway over. I need something soon. I am devoting hours a day scrolling through jobs. I need to get out of the house, but I'm afraid I'll miss a contact if I take a class or something. I need some interactions that don't involve people being shitty or just stupid with me.

When I was unemployed last time it got to the point where I did google searches for companies in my area and just blind sent them a resume saying “do you need anyone with my skills?”
I didn’t get a job out of it, but I did get some part time work. That helped with the money.

I don’t know if something like that would work for you. I’d address my letters to “the head of engineering”. I don’t even know if some of those places had that position. But, you could do “head of accounting” or something like that?

I have sent in my resume to the Stop and Shop corporate office and a few of the hospitals in Boston. It shouldn't hurt to try.

I am beginning to think, do you really want to work for that senior center the way they do business? :o :o :o

If it were a corporate job with monied responsibilities I would run away. Here, once I was on the payroll all I would need to do is show up and make sure the newsletter goes out and play scrabble with old people. I could care less what others in the office would do as long as my paycheck was approved. I could be as ditzy as they are... but I wouldn't because I am not worried that way ;-)
