Today's weather is making it hard to get started. The hurricane winds here unsettle me. I may loose power.

I don't now if my outside decorations are down the street to not.

Last week I applied for a job in development. This is a field I wanted to get into when I was let go from the insurance company in 2011. This is for Tufts Medical Center. I can't imagine thinking of a giant Boston hospital as a non profit, but maybe that will put things in my favor. The museums and colleges wanted people who would move on and be famous to bring attention to their place. A hospital shouldn't need famous people and may just want loyal people.

The description says they want familiarity with Raiser's Edge software. I have found a few tutorials on line that I will devour. Tomorrow is just a phone interview. I have to convince them that I am someone worth bringing in to the hospital to look at a second time.

The pay is the only job that I have applied for that doesn't come with a 10K pay cut.

One concern I have that I cant figure out how to avoid is how do I tell that people are going to be normal/nice. Im not looking for best friends, but I have had a lot of problems with people the last 2 jobs.

I still wish the senior center would change their mind and come back to my direction.

how do I tell that people are going to be normal/nice.

This is the HARDEST part of job hunting, knowing if you're going to find people that you can be friendly with at the office. Maybe ask some questions about how people tend to interact with each other? Do they keep to themselves, collaborate on projects, do people eat lunch together, have potlucks, that sort of thing? I don't have any answers, but I'm also in an industry where we tend to have a lot of interviews, which means I get to meet a lot of people while I'm learning about each job. But it's still a crap shoot.

Also no pay cut is a bonus!
