This and that
Dec. 14th, 2023 08:39 pmI still am rather disappointed that the senior center hired no one.
I have been spending 5 hours every morning looking for jobs. There is one in South Boston that was doing the exact same thing I did at the bank. I match perfectly. Since it's corporate no one will look at it until after Christmas.
I had a thought that if I set up a deadline for something artsy then I would get all sorts of interviews just to keep me away from my project...like last week and the craft fair.
Today I did one of the seasonal chores that I dislike... wrapping gifts to be shipped. Now I like wrapping gifts for people who I can give them to in hand, but I hate shipping. I hate wrapping and sending things to my sister and uncle ...carrying them to the post office and spending oner an hour in line and $50 just to get them to where they need to be. I don't actually pay for it. I take that out of Dad's account since I do all his shopping and wrapping for him...but it still irks me. I think it's because Dad doesn't participate in the process( He just tells me to take $500 out of the bank for me) and Texas Uncle may send me a Christmas card by February.
One good thing that came out of the Senior Center interview is that I now know how easy it is to get to Hmart. It's a huge Asian market and all the Asian veggies that I like are very inexpensive. Baby Boy Choi at the traditional western markets is $7 while it's $3.99 at Hmart. I have also fell in love with baby Shitaki mushrooms and baby king oyster mushrooms. I can also get a case of mangos for $7. Yummy. I make a mean mango fried rice.
On impulse I bought a book. It's called the Lioness of Boston and is about Isabella Stuart Gardener. It's fiction. I like reading about historic Boston. Hopefully it's not flowery dreck.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 52 degrees out. I hope to walk my beach..maybe run away to Revere. Not sure if I will have time.
