Nov. 30th, 2023 07:50 amYesterday I can a few more contacts about jobs.
The insurance place contacted me for an in person interview on Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 4 PM. This afternoon I need to take a trial run to time my arrival from the train station. If I take a job there they have a complimentary shuttle, but I cant use it for the interview.
I have 2 phone interviews today.
The Senior center got back to me. The persons 15 month old came down with that RMV virus and she had to take a couple days off. She hasn't made a discussion yet. She said that she would let me know when she did. I guess I wasn't the shoe in I thought I was before Thanksgiving.
When I compare the Senior center job and the insurance job they both pay the same, except the insurance company only has a 36.25 work week so that is 90 less.
The insurance job provides a mentor and it seems some serious training. I like the idea of a mentor mostly because if you fail they fail in their performance, so most want to get you up and running and if you fail later they are off the hook. I could get raises there and a bonus. I would need this as Monthly it would be almost a 900 a month pay cut from my old job. Boy does this cause anxiety.
The senior center would be less of a pay cut, but no real raise or bonus potential. I dont think much stress at work, but the commute in bad weather will be stressful and the commute would be longer so I may not get home until 6 or 7. But there would be no speed of processing goals. No competing with 30 year olds. None of the corporate crap.
Oh well. We shall see what happens. Nothing is a win win or loose loose. It's just starting over.
