Nov. 13th, 2023 12:42 pmI had the interview.
I was not what I thought would be. It is an office of 5 people. They do not run the housing part of the complex. They run the non profit living/activities part of the senior complex. While not what I thought it would be it would make me happy to belong. You are part of planning the activities and events and making life more engaging for the residents. Some are low income. \\
The position is a blend of 2 positions. The person who does the book keeping is retiring December 31. She is only there 20 hours. They want someone to be part of events and the record keeping that it involves (who paid to go on a trip, who signed up for a class, etc.
The hours are between 32 and 40. The healthcare is Blue Cross Blue shield. They have vision and dental as well. A 401k with a 7% match. They also have sick time and a generous PTO. I have had 5 weeks for years so we shall see what generous is if they call me back
The commute would be a train and a bus, or 2 busses. Doable. Not Boston, but doable.
The woman who is uncharge just came back from maternity leave. Another woman also has small children. Im sure they would understand if I need a day for Dad medical stuff.
I think I would be poor, but happy...and then if happy I could develop my artsy crafts to augment my income...like I have wanted to for years.

Date: 2023-11-14 08:06 pm (UTC)I also am glad I got an interview on something that would use my business background and perk my creativity. I may not get it, but it was a good first interview. And it was a first for zoom too. So all positive even if I dont hear back.

Date: 2023-11-14 08:04 pm (UTC)I will send a follow up at the end of next week. I know she had more interferes this week. I think I was the first. She needs to hire for December so the person can shadow the book keeper who is leaving at the end of December.
I hope I impressed her with my eagerness to be a part f the engagement activities for the people living there. The pay will be tight, but I may be happy with it and it would get me the momentum I need to do something profitable with my ceramics. Maybe take on a class or try selling on line like others do.
