Happy Godzilla Day

ravena_kadeIt's Godzilla Day. The Big G is 69 years old today.
Why I like Godzilla; The movies remind me of my Mother and good times. Yes, Ma could be as grouchy as a Godzilla, but it's not that. Back in the 70's when my sister and I were little we would watch the Creature Double Feature show on Winter Saturday afternoons with my Mother. WE had a dark avocado green (maybe Godzilla Green) sofa and we would have blankets and Monster movies...Ma's favorite was Godzilla. Ma would make us Elio's frozen pizza and we would watch all Monster movies...mostly Japanese movies, but I also really like Reptilicus and that wasn't Japanese.
The new Japanese Godzilla movie was released in Japan today. A young you tuber I watch went over and saw the movie is Japanese without subtitles. He kept saying it was the most beautiful Godzilla movie filmed and it was also very emotional. People left the theater with tears in their eyes.
I have my T shirt and I will head out to see the movie in December. Right now I dont see that it is playing in my area on IMAX. A little disappointed. Frankly I think the Aquarium IMAX should show it because Godzilla is from the ocean. I will also go out for sushi. I think one of teh sushi places around my house even has a Godzilla roll ;-)
I thought it was funny that I was laid off on Godzilla Day... but then I am not really sad about it. (It's the job hunt that is the issue)

A year or so ago, I bought a Godzilla dvd collection. I don't know his name but the director, I believe that made all those early movies. :)
