Yesterday I left work early because I had a meeting with the job hunting coach. We went over my resume and I talked about the high points of my job that I thought would help me get another job. It seemed to go well. She is going to tweak it and then I can get it out on Link'd In.

I asked if there are any classes on interviewing as a brush up. I especially find phone interviews awkward. She asked why. She said that I was very confident on the virtual meeting and could talk about my job in a way that made it sound important to everyone...that I brought it down to my listeners level and related it to them as a person. I said my thing is that I am feeding off your visual cues. You are giving me the vibe that you are engages and to keep going so I do. I know I can get rather chatty, especially after covid lock down. On the phone I cant see these visual cues so its hard for me to turn it down. Not every boss likes that much confidence or chat. She found that hard to believe, but I have had the bosses that dont like it so I am cautious.

My homework this week is to get a better pick for my profile. The pic out there is from 2011 and is grainy. She commented that I am redhead now. I told her how being a redhead changes things. Instead of being the short one, the fat one, the loud one I am now The Redhead. People will just stop and comment on my color and I smile and say "when you get to choose, you get to choose for fun" Many people remember me because of it.
