Went and saw Dad today. He seems okay. They pulled 5 pounds of fluid out of him. They think the fluid was squishing the heart and that's what made his BP lower than his usual low. I don't really understand as he had 20 pound on back in March and his BP was not an issue. Analyzing things does me no good. I just keep waiting for some big to be wrong...

I was there for 5 hours. Met the cardiology team, saw him get an echo, and made sure he got his 1 PM pill. I also made his a protein heavy lunch. He is now down to 156 pounds. He was just about 220 this time last year. Thats one hell of a diet plan.

The plan is to take more fluid off him and then do an echo when he is dried out like a prune. That's a quote from the cardiology team. Great. He'll be so dry he will fart dust. Im thinking he may be home Tuesday.

Just as I left the hospital to go get my new glasses the sky opened uo and I got soaked. I picked up the glasses and it took over 2 hours to get home because the trains were not running

My new glasses are great. The others were old enough that the coating was coming off. That and the nose part was bent so they didn't sit right on my nose. They fit great and I can read the computer so much better. I have every filter on the lenses and they even darken to a purple in the sunlight. It's good to see.

He was only 1+ pounds over his base weight, and yet they pulled 5 pounds of fluid off of him? :o
When you say they pulled fluid off, is that a diuretic and he's peeing it off or are they tapping/draining fluid from his body?
Keeping thoughts and prayers for both of you.
HUGS, Jon

Yeah, they should be checking all that, but from your more recent posting, it sounds like they have found the problem. :o

That's a lot of weight to lose but it will have a positive effect on his health.

Glad you like your new glasses. I had new ones recently and it was great to be able to read small print again!

I hope that things will be on a more even keel and that the docs have figured it out!

Can't wait to see your new specs
