ravena_kadeDad had an 8 AM cardiologist appointment to discuss the possibility of leaky heart valves and what to do with them. I scheduled half a PTO day so I would not hav etc kill my self making up time... It didnt work
I signed on work at 4:30 AM... The new system didnt work. The system that is the deciding factor in my lay off. Yeah... I started Before 5 and by 6:30 still not able to get anything to complete. I was trying to work but nothing would enter properly. I was so upset.
Left at 6:30 to the hospital in Boston. On a good day it is a 40 minute ride. I allow extra time in case of traffic. It took over 2.5 hours to get there today. Everything was gridlocked. I wanted to turn around and go home since we were already an hour late and I needed to be back by 11 for a project meeting where I am the expert. The traffic was absurd. I was so upset. I found a number to call the hospital and they transferred me to another area that gave the message to the doc that we were stuck and not blowing her off. Theoretically we were 10 minutes away, but couldn't move. Found out that road to the hospital was closed. You would figure that the second most popular route in the STATE to the biggest medical area on the East Coast would have a sign on it saying the hospital road was closed and to seek an alternate route. Oh My. The doc was able to squeeze up in... Was so upset and still have to make sure I was back for the meeting.
Dad then minions that he has been having heart palpitations since after dinner last night. I asked why he didnt say anything His answer was that I didn't ask him.GGGRRRRRR
The doc was concerned that his weight was 161.2 instead of 160. She said that she could hear fluid. She wanted an echo but they wanted him dried out. That way they cud tell if the leaky valves are causing the fluid or if the fluid is causing the leaky valves. To do that he needs to go back into the hospital. It could take a few days. She said she would set up an admittance for tomorrow or Monday depending on availability. She would call after her clinic rounds. Fine... Sigh... fine. No one ever called us.
Rushed back for the meeting. They cancelled it because of the problems I discovered before going to the hospital. Sigh. There was also a systems upgrade that caused me to loose access to a bunch of shared drives.
Its just noon time and I want to stand outside and just scream and scream and scream
Instead of working just 2 hours to finish out the day I didnt sign off until 4 as I had to try and fire out what happened to my systems access because Monday and Tuesday the team lead is out and I have been assigned to do all her work... and possible admit my Dad into the hospital. Great.
Tomorrow Dad has a pain clinic appointment at 8... at a closed medical place. And while I work I have to try and get a hold of the cardiologist and see when he can be admitted. I have finagled a ride as I dont want to leave the car in Boston. I just need to know if its Friday or Monday. We want friday as he will need fluid meds in an IV drip. He can lay there on the weekend and be all dried out for the echo on Monday or Tuesday and then get home. We will also need to set up a meeting with the valve clinic.
I just dont know how I am supposed to get another job.
